I read the free series. Is the book worth it?

All the text is free on my blog, as a series. The book is the same text assembled into one book, available today, plus a foreword, a "Try this" exercise in every chapter, the merged FAQ (38 questions), the cheat sheet appendix, and an offline PDF and EPUB. The Complete edition adds the Starter Pack and the worksheets. If the series gave you what you needed, you don't need the book. I mean it.

What is the difference between Book and Complete?

Do I need the Obsidian Starter Kit?

No. The book works with any vault. That being said, if you'd rather start from a finished system, the Obsidian Starter Kit ships the note types, templates, properties and Bases the book describes.

No. Two chapters cover AI search. The rest of the book works without it.

How do updates work?

Updates are free for the whole 2026 edition (all 1.x versions); the book is written and checked against Obsidian 1.14. New versions appear in your Gumroad library.
